What Athletes Receive Week-to-Week

At Magnum Opus Coaching, the structure of the work is simple, but the attention to detail is where the difference lies.

Athletes receive a personalized training plan delivered through their training platform, built around their current fitness, life schedule, and race goals. Plans evolve week-to-week rather than being written months in advance, allowing us to respond to how your body is actually adapting.

Each week typically includes:

• Structured run workouts tailored to your current phase of training

• Long run progression designed to build endurance without unnecessary fatigue

• Recovery runs and aerobic development to reinforce durability

• Strategic quality sessions that develop speed, efficiency, and range

• Strength and durability recommendations when appropriate

• Guidance around fueling, pacing, and recovery

But the plan itself is only one part of coaching.

Every run is reviewed. Sometimes the feedback is brief: an acknowledgment that the work was completed exactly as intended. Other times we take a deeper look at pacing trends, effort levels, fatigue signals, or life stressors that may be affecting your training.

Athletes are encouraged to reflect on their runs and share how the training feels. Those conversations help guide the next week of training so adjustments can be made before small issues become larger ones.

Coaching also includes race preparation and execution strategy. We help athletes approach race day with a clear pacing plan, fueling strategy, and understanding of the course so that the work they’ve done in training translates into a confident performance.

This kind of coaching is not about simply assigning workouts.

It is about guiding the process that allows the workouts to actually work.
